Commercial Photography North Carolina//Jung Tao School of Chinese Medicine
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina is a little hidden gem. A place where students practice Acupuncture, along with Taijiquan. This secret place is called Jung Tao School of Chinese Medicine located in Sugar Grove (Boone NC). I say secret because it simply seems that only a handful of (extremely fortunate) people know of this wonderful opportunity to study such an ancient science. I came to know Jung Tao on my own path of "serendipity". A good friend of mine, along with myself, were having a relaxed lake house weekend and stumbled across the idea of studying acupuncture. Mind you //myself// much more than her. I quickly got on the computer searching opportunities in our area and there it was.....just a small drive from Winston Salem NC and only one week out of the month. This is doable, right? Absolutely! I think to myself. So there I was enrolling both of us. As destiny had it, Tracy (my dear, trusting friend) got a call a few days later with acceptance. My application, however, never made it through the ever ending entanglement of the internet. She is now in her fourth year and graduating soon. As I have watched her experience and grow through this program, I realized that fateful day was all for her. It had absolutely nothing to do with me. It wasn't my time yet, but for her...well, it saved her life.
Although I am not a student, It has still become an integral part of my day to day living. I have watched Tracy master not only the program, but her life's path. I have visited her and her classmates, been a "patient" for clinical purposes, as well as asked to document the school for marketing and web purposes (which brings us to this blog post). I have learned so much more about my body and the potential for my endless energy, (or the lack of in some cases) through conversations and personal treatments with these amazing people/school. It has been such a treat to be such a special part of this program and these peoples journeys.

Taijiquan is an ancient Chinese system of health, martial arts, and mental conditioning. Taiji was created in China during the Sung Wei era (c.1101 AD) by a Daoist immortal known as Chang San-Feng. The principles of Taijiquan are what make this art unique. Most of the principles are shared by other arts, but no other art combines them the same way Taiji does, nor combines the principles with philosophy the way Taiji does. It is for these reasons that Taiji is the most widely practiced martial art in the world today. The principles of Taiji cover every aspect of human life - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
